Connected Property Management: History and Overview

Connected Property Management, Chicago, IL, was founded by Paul Houillon to provide property owners a high touch alternative to the over priced and unspecialized property management offerings in Chicago. We focus solely on the management of condominium associations and rental/investment property with a commitment to low prices, honesty, quality and reliability. Our customers have a single point of contact for all of their property management, maintenance and contractor needs by leveraging our unique connection of industry professionals. 

Connected Management: From the Founder, Paul Houillon

Connected Management was created from the stress and frustration of trying to find an honest and cost effective property manager for my rental buildings in Chicago.  At that point in my life I didn't have the time required to properly keep my units fully occupied with good tenants, manage the long list of daily issues that arise, and ultimately make the "rental process" work for me.  The result of trying to self-manage was constant stress, nights and weekends spent chasing down rent, long vacancy times, and consistently overpaying for maintenance and repairs. 

I conducted a thorough search of the Chicago area for a property manager to handle all aspects of managing my rentals. The first thing I noticed was how difficult it was to find a property management company in Chicago; the companies I did find required annual contracts and were only interested in my business  if I had a large number of properties. 

By looking at the quality of the content on these company's websites and talking to them on the phone I was not comfortable they could offer the level of service I required.  Let's face it, it just doesn't make financial sense to turn over your valuable investments to a fly-by-night company. Do they have rental investments of their own?  Are they focused, reliable and skilled dealing with tenants?  Do they have the resources and contacts to handle anything that may come up with my property?  In my mind these were key questions that I wasn't able to clearly answer.

Shortly thereafter I set out to build Connected Property Management, a solid management company to support small to mid-sized condominium associations and rental property. Connected Management's main objectives were, and remain, the following:
